Academy of European Law we współpracy z ECBA i Łotewską Rada Adwokacką zapraszają adwokatów zajmujących się sprawami karnymi do wzięcia udziału w seminarium z zakresu prawa karnego Unii Europejskiej dla obrońców szczególnie koncentrującego się na Europejskim Nakazie Aresztowania (EAW).  Szkolenie odbędzie się w dniach 29-30 maja 2015 r. w Rydze.

Szkolenie dedykowane jest dla obrońców z Łotwy, Holandii, Portugalii, Szwecji i Polski. Będzie prowadzone w języku angielskim .
Organizatorzy zapewniają 10 miejsc dla poszczególnych krajów.

Seminarium jest częścią ogólnoeuropejskiego projektu, którego celem będzie szkolenie obrońców w europejskich sprawach karnych. Szczególną uwagę należy zwrócić na praktykę obrony w sprawach europejskich nakazów aresztowania, jak i nowych środków podjętych w ramach planu działań UE na rzecz praw proceduralnych.

Program szkolenia obejmuje m.in.:
• Wpływ europejskiego prawa karnego w codziennej praktyce;
• wpływ nowych Dyrektyw w sprawie prawa do tłumaczenia ustnego i pisemnego; prawa do informacji; oraz prawo do dostępu do adwokata w postępowaniu karnym;
• Praktyczne obrony w sprawach dotyczących EAW i potencjalnych nowelizacji w ramach proponowanej dyrektywy w sprawie pomocy prawnej w postępowaniu z uwzględnieniem EAW.

Dla polskich uczestników rejestracja na szkolenie wynosi 125 € i obejmuje: materiały szkoleniowe, przerwy kawowe, lunch i wspólny obiad. Koszty zakwaterowania w dniach 29 i 20 maja 2015 r. pokrywa organizator, natomiast koszt dojazdu do kwoty 300 € będzie zwracany przez organizatorów na podstawie przedstawionej faktury. Jednak uczestnicy muszą zorganizować dojazd we własnym zakresie.

Objective
This seminar is part of an EU-wide project to train defence lawyers on European criminal justice instruments and cooperation. Special
focus will be given to the practical defence in cases of European Arrest Warrants as well as the new measures taken under the EU
roadmap for procedural rights.
The seminar is tailor-made for criminal defence lawyers from Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Sweden. The seminar is open to participants from Estonia, Finland, and Lithuania.

• The impact of the new Directives on the right to interpretation and translation; the right to information; and the right to
access to a lawyer in criminal proceedings
• Practical defence in EAW cases and potential novelties under the proposed Directive on Legal Aid in EAW Proceedings
• The application of mutual recognition instruments such as freezing and confiscation orders from a defence perspective
General Conditions
Fee: €125 for participants from Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, and Sweden as well as Estonia, Finland, and Lithuania. €50 for participants from Riga who do not claim reimbursement of their travel and accommodation.The fee includes documentation, coffee breaks, lunch and a joint dinner. Accommodation for 2 nights will be booked and covered by ERA.Travel costs will be reimbursed by ERA upon receipt of the original invoices up to € 300 for participants from the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Sweden as well as Estonia, Finland and Lithuania; and up to €150 for participants from Latvia. Participants will have to book their own travel.
The number of places for the seminar is limited. The places will be allocated among the eligible applicants on a first come, first served basis.
